Life Expectancy: Your solar electric system is guaranteed to produce power for 25 years. In fact, after 25 years, your solar system will produce at least 80% as much power as it did the day we turned it on. The solar industry expects the system will be producing power for the next 50 to 75 years. Maintenance: There is no routine maintenance with a PV system. There are no moving parts that can fatigue and fail. Occasionally, the modules get dusty, but a rain shower or the squirt of a hose easily remedies this small issue. Noise: Your solar system sits in the sun and produces electricity. The modules produce no noise. |

The following is an interpretation of the current tax code by FREEstate ENERGY. Please consult your tax consultant to verify current tax legislation and applicability to any particular situation. A good resource for current solar tax information can be found at www.dsireusa.org.
On a solar installation, fully 30% of the installed cost can be taken as a credit. This is not a deduction, but an actual credit. This is money taken off of the bottom line of your taxes. Depreciation: Additionally, if installed for business use, the cost of the system can also be depreciated. |
