    First are the panels or Modules on the roof.  We install several different brands of
    modules.  The manufacturer of this module is Evergreen.  We highly recommend the
    use of these modules.


    The second piece of equipment is an inverter.  This changes the DC power from the
    modules into AC power in your home.  They have built in safety features in the inverter
    which will match the electricity on the grid, and won’t allow power to flow if the power is
    out.


    This safety feature is to protect lineman who may be working on the power line near
    your home.  The inverter will not allow electricity to flow onto the line when the electricity
    is off.

    Solar Electric/Photovoltaic

    What is Photovoltaic?  Photo means light and voltaic
    means to induce electric current.  Photovoltaic means
    light induced electric current.  Sunshine will produce
    electricity when it shines on a solar panel.  Instead of
    remembering photovoltaic, just remember PV.  It is
    just simpler.

    Speaking of simple, today’s PV systems are really
    simple.  No batteries are required.  Only two pieces
    of equipment are required.
